The first issue of the scientific research journal EdTech Journal is out

In line with our mission to develop educational resources, provide the best conditions for advancement and professional development, and our unwavering commitment to the development of modern education, the LINKgroup company is proud to present the first issue of our scientific journal EdTech Journal. It is the first open access scientific journal in this part of the world dedicated to information technologies in education.  

With its first issue, the EdTech Journal opens its doors to all researchers and experts in the field of educational technologies and modern teaching practices. The first volume (2021) comprises six papers in Serbian and English, written by 18 authors: five original scientific papers and one professional paper (book review). 

The paper brings together relevant experts interested in the application of information technologies in education, providing them with a credible platform for their scientific papers, supporting them, and increasing the visibility of authors and researchers from various disciplines and scientific fields, described in the Science Policy of the journal.

What can you expect in the first issue? 

The very first issue of the EdTech Journal contains only scientific papers that stand out for their quality, unique vision in the field of educational technologies, as well as the fact that they have been written by the most prominent experts in the field. The designation of the first issue is Vol. 1 №1 for 2021, and it is available both in print and electronic form, in Serbian and English.  

The central topic of the first issue, and the main idea behind this endeavour, is the presentation of progressive ideas regarding edtech trends on a global level, aimed at creating an adequate climate for the implementation of advanced technologies in educational practices, as well as other fields of information and social science.

In the Introductory word from the editor, Editor-in-Chief, Dr Valentin Kuleto writes: 

 

The journal in front of you is a guarantee that only the very best practices will be taken into consideration, but also that we will reach the best solutions. It is an invitation to dialogue and collaboration that will produce healthier, more satisfied and better educated young people, who will grow to become experts that we can all  be proud of.  

 

In order to cover the broadest possible range of topics related to modern technologies, and provide a comprehensive insight into modern global trends, the first issue of the EdTech Journal is dedicated to the topic of information technologies in education, economy and society: 

  • Problems that occur when you evaluate the reliability of data on which IoT is based;  

  • Application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in higher education;

  • Development of a new dimensional model for the analysis of information and communication technology use in Serbia;

  • Application of mobile banking in modern banking systems;

  • Lessons from the past: The smallpox outbreak in Yugoslavia, and its impact on public health and economy;

  • The basics of discrete mathematics in information and computer science. 

EdTech Journal – A perfect place for progressive ideas in education 

The journal aims to raise awareness of the role and importance of information technologies in all areas of society, economy and education. The scientific character of the journal is reflected in the sharing of knowledge, results of scientific research, and the promotion of science.  

The importance and impact of technology, and its scientific roots cannot be overestimated. We need to be proactive and aim to clearly communicate the values embedded in today’s technologies to the people who use them, so as to encourage innovation and ensure the progress of society as a whole. 

Only one issue of the EdTech Jounrla is planned for 2021, while as of 2022, the journal will be published biannually, i.e. every six months. The first issue for 2022 will soon be published. 

All scientific and professional papers published in the journal will be available on the journal’s website in their entirety. Each paper is assigned a DOI number and UDC classification, and is visible on the Internet, as well as in the National Library of Serbia (which performed bibliographic processing of the papers), i.e. in the COBISS.RS database.

The publisher of the EdTech Journal, the LINKgroup company, has long since established itself as a leader in the field of information technology applications, and progressive methodological approaches to teaching during its 20-year-long existence.

EdTech Journal was created to help us successfully face new challenges and definitions brought about by “new technologies and new knowledge”. Everyone who works in science aims to change the world for the better with their ideas, and utilize the full potential of technology, and to make that happen, all of us need to work together and share ideas.
